Our Mission

In Vivo is Harvard Medical School’s medical humanities magazine. Founded by a group of first-year medical students in 2021, In Vivo seeks to provide a platform for expression in medicine and promote communal engagement in the arts and humanities. We publish and feature a full gamut of works, including but not limited to:

  • visual/auditory media (art, photography, music, film);

  • creative writing (short/long fiction, nonfiction, poetry), and;

  • medical narratives of both patients and providers.

We hope that our little corner of the internet can be an enriched hub for healing and creativity, ultimately enhancing our ability to provide patient-centered, compassionate care through reflection, perspective, and self-expression.
