Welcome to In Vivo!

A medical humanities publication designed by students at
Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Dental Medicine

Submissions for our 2025 issue will open on March 1st!

The theme for In Vivo’s 3rd issue is: questions. As medical students, we often turn to the scientific method as a way to ask and answer questions. But as humans and artists, we may also turn to art as a way to explore questions and communicate our own answers–whether it’s listening to a song in a time of distress, looking at a favorite piece of art in a new light, or writing as a way to understand one’s own emotions.

In this issue, we encourage submitters from all backgrounds to reflect on the question their work aims to answer–from “what was my grandma’s favorite song?” to “what does it mean to watch someone die?”.

Along with your work’s title in our Table of Contents, we will include your work’s question in a “Table of Questions” in this issue, meant to provide an additional way to enjoy our issue. We hope this will be an opportunity for your own self-reflection, as well as a way to convey to readers what your work aims to explore.
